History: The Consanguine (by blood) Coven was formed in 1585 by two families in Rouen France, the Sorel and Staël-Holstein families. Both families had at least three members that had a share of The Power. The need to be with others like themselves in a time of chased judgment brought about the need for such a coven. It also brought about a place for the younger members of the families to be trained both in practical use or their arts and in defense against those that hunted.
The Order had nearly destroyed the Consanguine Coven in the late 1700's, but in secret, the coven allied themselves with other Covens in Convents to later become The Oracle of Thoth.
Even in this day, the Consanguine Coven trains its young in many of the same ways that their ancestors were taught. Other families have joined over the years, but the two elder positions have been of the founding families respectively.
