Background/History:
Aleric is the eldest child of two in the Artois family. His parents Alycia and Ahren are both descendants of different families of England that settled in Salem in the late 1600's, The Lucchese and The Artois. During the Salem Witch Trials, their families separately remained hidden in silence from the hypocrisy of the human world. Forming an alliance to aid each other in times of need. It seemed inevitable that at least one generation would join the two families by marriage. For centuries the two families lived among each other, not as a covenant, but as businessmen and woman working together while thriving to keep the secrets of their families' history, and gain wealth in the process without being discovered.
His parents met officially at Spenser during freshman year, and after graduating got married, then went off to college close by. His father gained an athletic scholar's scholarship to a small private college in town. His father wanted the keep his family roots in Salem, and for good reasons. Ahren later became the coach of the boys basketball team after graduating from said college. Leading them to several championships, and remains as current division champs. Ahren holds school records as a player and coach to this very day. His mother is a world known lawyer, graduate of Harvard Law. She resides as President and CEO of the most prestige law firm in Salem. Her gift allows his mother to work outside of Salem as well seeing that she is among the top lawyers in the state.
Since both of his parents are witches, he has known all his life about his gift, and the disadvantages of having said powers. During his early years, he studied the history of his culture and the surrounding Covenants in the area. The Salem Witch trials in 1692 were all held in Salem Town by the Court of Oyer and Terminer, with the Superior Court of Judicature hearing cases in 1693 in the individual county court seats: Salem Town, Ipswich, Boston, and Charlestown. He wanted to have knowledge of everything he could get his hands on. Knowledge is power in itself, if used the appropriate way to achieves ones means anyway. In turn, this made Aleric very studious. He prides himself on being the most intelligent person in his grade. He remained successful at it up until enrolling at Spenser.
Seeing that his father is a super star athletic and coach, he wanted to follow in his footsteps. Not only does he have success in basketball, but also in football. While in grade school, if he was not practicing for some sport, he was lost somewhere in solitude reading a great novel. In his free time, he enjoys writing short stories or poems. By the age of eleven, he had won three consecutive statewide spelling bee contests. Let's just say, he is very outspoken. At Spenser, sports and girls become the center of attention. Even though his new found passion takes much more of his time, his grades continue to be up to par as he tries to maintain the athletic scholar status of his father.
Upon reaching thirteen, he experienced the greatest and most anticipated moment of his life. He got the first taste of using his gift. Loving every moment of it, he almost got kicked out of Camp Iwanahee that summer for blatantly disregarding the rules. Before getting banned, he was introduced to a man by the name of Gorman Twoberry. In exchange to being sent back home, he would be isolated from the other kids at camp, and he would be provided solitary tutoring from Gorman. In turn, he learned of his mother's family history as well as his father's. He realized then he had some big shoes to fill, yet that didn't alter the seduction of his gift and using his powers. He uses as often as he can within his limits. In his mind, the aging starts after one ascends.
When he gets to Spenser, he joins the basketball team as a freshman. Being the only starting freshman on the varsity team at Spenser's in many years, he's gained quite a name for himself. He currently is captain of the varsity team as a junior. Although he didn't play football during his first year at Spenser, he did join the team at the beginning of his second just to prove he was better at sports than his father. He started on varsity as a wide receiver on offense and free safety on defense. Seeing that this is the end of his junior year, he looks forward to breaking many school records as a senior.

He sits in his window seal of the estate looking out over the lake in the backyard. He thinks it may be a good night to visit the girls in the dorm. Pantie raid maybe? He guesses it can't be too hard to gather a few more eager participants on the boys end. They were all teenagers with nothing to do on a Thursday night. It's the perfect crime of sorts. He taps his finger on the bottom of his chin. Which car does he want to take tonight? With a twinkle of his eye, he jumps from the window seal landing in the grass. He dusts himself off heading off to the garage when he hears a familiar sound. A voice. A disturbing one at that too. He tilts his head to the side as his little sister Alera approaches rather quickly.
"I see I can't go anywhere without you, can I? Get in the car Alera. And fast!" His tone stays calm and ease as he watches his sister get in. "We must be back before mom and dad get home. Don't get lost this time, please. I won't cover for you this time." He grins at her then pulls casually out of the driveway headed to Spenser. "Maybe you should move in at the dorm to give us an excuse to get out more. You are a freshman now."
