The Ipswich Covenant has been kept secret and isolated for hundreds of years; but the Ipswich Covenant is not the only covenant of witches. There are covenants of witches all around the world, each keeping secret and hidden away from the mortal world. There is some communication between covenants (or covens, as they are often called), and there is even some intermarriage between the covens, but for the most part they've kept separate to avoid exposure.
Until now.
The Catholic Church has despised and detested witches for all time, believing witches to be the work of the devil. They are a race that must be destroyed. With the inauguration of the new Pope, old knowledge about the various covens around the world has been newly discovered. Texts on the subject had been hidden away in the Vatican library, forgotten by generations of Popes. Now it has been rediscovered, and a modern crusade against witchcraft has been instated, threatening the very existence of witches. And, what may be worse, they are all at risk for exposure.
So, what is the fate of the covenants of witches around the world?

Be sure to follow these:
NO SPAMMING. This includes the C-box
You MUST ABSOLUTELY MUST wait before posting. We must accept your profile (and application if you want to be anything other than a human) first. We will get to you eventually. Do not complain to us in the C-box, and only PM us if it has been at least a week (7 full days) since you posted your profile.
All characters, canon and non-canon, MUST sign on at least once a week, and if you are inactive for two weeks, you will be warned. If you continue to be inactive, you will be deleted. Active means to be on the board, but does not mean posting. We would love you all to actively post, but in reality that does not happen.
Canon Characters MUST be active (this includes posting regularly)!
Cursing is allowed, but please don't go insane with it.
Sex is alright, but if you do it, PLEASE mark your thread with a "M" to let people know what's going on (M for Mature... get it?). Mature themes (nudity, excessive violence, etc.) are included in this as well. If you do not mark your thread, it will result in an automatic 2-day suspension. If it happens twice, 2 week suspension. After that, banned! [This may change. Check back here before posting a mature thread. A little PS here if a Mature thread is found in the guest friendly area such as Spenser Academy there will be a one week (7 day) ban for all involved, no exceptions!]
NO killing Characters unless first asking. This goes along with the god-moding rule. Please also inform a staff member if you are planning to kill off a character (YOU CAN NOT KILL OFF A CANON).
Ask another Character, if you want yours to become related to his/hers.
If, by some off-chance you decide you want to be pregnant, you must first PM the Admin and then you will receive further information. This must be done as soon as possible!
With our progressive board marriages will happen and should. You must first contact the Admin to receive further information.
The only thing that should be in your display name should be your character's name.
You MUST put some sort of Picture of YOUR character as your AVATAR. We need to know what you look like. We do ask that it is of a real person.
Just a small note about personal text, avatars and signatures... keep the material that are in PG-13, if you don't understand this contact the Administrator.
TRY not to make your signature big. It can be large, but try not to make it HALF a page. This is for those who have 800x600 screens and do not enjoy scrolling over to read text. Also, it gets irritating when someone has a huge signature. Please also limit the number of images that you have in your sig. A few smaller images stacked can take up a lot of space on a page as well.
TRY to use Proper grammar. TRY. It's not that hard.
Stay in character! Unless you post an OOC: or ((OOC)) or something along those lines, there shouldn't be any random OOC moments.
NO GOD MOD. (AKA Modding/moding, Force Movement.) Example: Vikki attacks Ashley, and Ashley falls dead on the ground, twitching. Vikki stabs Ashley and Ashley stops breathing. Here is a nice little note that sums it up:
OOC: I'm not talking about how it would go down in real life. You're coming up with a situation that never happened without first asking for his/her permission. It wouldn't be god-moding if you had PMed him or something and asked "Hey, I was thinking, could we do this-" or something like that. God-moding is when you take control of an aspect of another person's character, which INCLUDES their history, jobs and thoughts. God-moding/Forced Actions can lead to a temporary ban and up to account termination.
Please try and stay active. Just... try. What's the point of signing up if you're not active?
Characters can be in more than one thread at once, but watch the time line. It is not possible for anyone (unless a using witch) to be in two countries and the like extremely close in time to one another.
To have multiple characters you first must have an established character, by having 50 posts with your main character. You MUST also contact a staff member about your additional character preferably before you post your application (if needed) and profile. You MUST stay active will all accounts. Additional characters are treated like any other and are subject to inactivity warnings leading up to account deletions.
All staff can see IPs; this information isn't used for anything passed checking to see if accounts are coming from the same internet connection. If you share a computer with someone or connection this would be a good time to let a staff member know about this. If we find accounts that have the same IPs the second account will be locked out. Also if you try to trick the staff and it comes out later that you have a multiple characters, all characters other than your main (first) will be locked out till the account in question have reached the required post count. The staff will discuss further punishment on an individual basis.
Please do not ask to be a staff member. If we need them, we'll let people know.
DO NOT hassle others to post. For one it just plan rude and too many of us have more than one character on this board and other boards that we are on. Pressuring someone for a post will just bring about a crappy post and that's not what we're looking for here.
No numbers/weird symbols in your display name. Just no, ¤loquacious lackies¤.
All characters are to age normally, unless they are a witch that has overused passed ascending. (i.e. no one should have a character with an actual age of 56 and look 22. Unless there is a spell involved. Ask staff if you have any questions about this.)
You are allowed to be a witch, although there cannot be too many. If we see that too many are joining as witches, we will stop allowing them until we have more normal humans. This also includes Templars. Please see the application areas for these types of characters to see if the quota has been filled for the time being.
When making a character you must choose to be a normal human (who has no powers and only natural abilities), a witch (who have powers, but also have to deal with the responsibilities of those powers), or a templar (no powers but are highly trained in all manners of combat, research and other tactics). We do have a few "Half-breeds" or "Crossbreeds" these have been allowed by the Admin for specific reasons, but will have to choose which side at some point in time. If you wish to have one of these combined characters you MUST inform the Admin before posting your application with your plea, ideas, etc. It is up to the Admin and the staff to decide whether or not your specific blended character will be allowed.
If you have any questions/suggestions, PM a Staff Member.
